Last weekend we took part in one of the most exciting and fan-favorite events of the season – Night Rallycross in Biķernieki. Rallycross.lv
Our team drivers competed in both the Latvia–Lithuania and Baltic Rallycross Championships.
This time we welcomed a debut from Adrians Apsītis #21, who showed from the time practice that he was fully ready to fight in the Crosskart Extreme class – even though he had only completed 8 practice sessions with the buggy on our home track.
The best result for our team came from Roberts Purmalis #17. With consistently fast lap times and a brilliant Joker lap strategy – perfectly executed with the help of spotter Lauris Barkāns – Roberts secured a strong 2nd place in the Latvia–Lithuania Championship.
Jānis Baumanis #66 was just short of the podium in the Latvia–Lithuania Championship, but in the Baltic classification he achieved an excellent 2nd place.
Our hobby-level driver Miks Ozoliņš #85 once again proved he is capable of competing with the very best in the field.
Unfortunately, the toughest weekend belonged to our Lithuanian driver Matas Zavarskis #55. Despite strong pace and top positions in Q1 and Q2, a collision in Q3 forced him into the Last Chance heat, which he managed well. However, in the final another incident in the very first corner ended his race.
Overall, Team Hornet has plenty to be proud of – in the final, 5 of the top 6 drivers were behind the wheel of Hornet R1 crosskarts!
And the season isn’t over yet – soon we’re heading to Estonia for the next challenge.🇪🇪
