Baltic Rallycross Championship at Estonia, Raassilla.

Adrians Apsitis, 🇱🇻, #21:

“Raassilla was a kick to my butt. I enjoyed the race, but I just couldn’t find my rhythm, so the pace wasn’t there throughout the whole day. Qualifying was okay, after three qualifying sessions, I was fourth.

Going into the semi finals, it started raining, which wasn’t the best thing for me because of my lack of experience in the rain, but I still managed to finish third.

The final was something else. I climbed up to fourth place, and on the last lap I pulled off a great overtake to finish third. But after doing donuts, the stewards called me in for a talk and I ended up getting a penalty for colliding with an Estonian driver, which dropped me down to sixth place.

A rough weekend overall, but aiming for better results in Poland. See you all there!”

Matas Zavarskis, 🇱🇹, #55:

“Raassilla was a decent race, Couldn’t find my own pace in the heats. Fortunately in the Semi Finals I managed to make great decisions on my car setup and driving with the unexpected wet conditions which lead me to winning the semifinal. In the final every was going smooth, but I got overtaken by Adrians in the last lap crossing the line at P4. In the end Adrians deserved the P3 and I got lucky for getting on the podium.”

Roberts Purmalis, 🇱🇻, #17:

“Raassilla was a good race overall. Our pace was strong all weekend, even though I struggled a bit with the starts. In the semi-final, a poor launch and not quite the perfect setup meant I had to fight back, but I still managed to finish P3.

The final was tough after contact in the first corner dropped me back to P5, but with strong pace and a great joker strategy, we fought back to take the win.

Great to see my teammate on the podium as well in P3. Overall, a lot of good battles and important lessons learned.“
